The blade features a polished tsuchime (hammered) and sandblasted finish, coupled with a finely ground, thin bevel. This design strikes an excellent balance between edge toughness and sharpness.

The core of the blade is made from SG2 steel, renowned for its exceptional edge retention and corrosion resistance. It is also a favourite of Nigara Hamono's head sharpener, Maruyama-san.
