Zuiun are well-known for their bang for buck and are always extremely well-received. This latest version of "Zuiun-Kiwami" added a layer of DLC coating (Diamond like Carbon).

This coating clocks in at a hardness of around HV2000~3000. According to Seki Kanetsugu, not only does the coating offers a better corrosion resistance, it also reduces the friction between blade and food during cut. This also reduce the possibility of scratching your knife, as the coating itself is quite hard.

Handle has been reverted from heptagon to a flatter, octagonal shape. This fits better in hand in our opinion. The material, same as before, is pakka wood.

Note: DLC coating is different to teflon coating, the former being much harder. However, it will still be slowly abrade away under abnormal or extensive use.
