This piece is a collaborative work between the Chinese swordsmith Sun and Xinguo.
The blade is forged from a billet of 1084 and 15N20, produced through the traditional process of repeated splitting and recompression. The resulting structure forms an elegant, S‑shaped feather Damascus pattern that flows across the blade—organic, dynamic, and rich in movement. From spine to heel, the pattern remains dense, crisp, and precisely defined.
Xinguo’s exceptional grinding, etching, and surface‑finishing work brings out the full clarity and depth of the material. The overall design language clearly reflects the maker’s signature approach, combining a classic, slightly vintage character with a restrained sense of refinement. It stands as a work of notably high caliber.
