"ENN" is Kisuke Manaka’s signature work, built with an Aogami 1 core and Damascus cladding of Aogami 2 and soft iron, forged using the Sanmai‑uchi method. It has long been respected by knife enthusiasts worldwide.
Reinterpreted by the Chinese craftsman Xinguo, the Enn receives careful regrinding and polishing. Each blade achieves excellent flatness and sharpness. A fluid mirror finish is applied before a precisely controlled etching brings out the depth and character of the Damascus pattern.
The 2026 version introduces a dark tone, with a bold contrast of iron‑black and metallic silver. To distinguish it from the 2025 Byakku Enn (白琰), this version is now named Boku‑Enn (墨琰).
While it shares a slight resemblance to Manaka’s own Koku‑Enn (黑琰), Boku‑Enn reflects Xinguo’s pursuit of refinement—achieving his highest level of finish and visual presence to date.
