Shoichi Hashimoto "Omodaka" White1 Honyaki Gyuto
Latest knife by genius metal artist "Shoichi Hashimoto". An atypical honyaki with unique hamon. This hamon can be categorised as either as "Muneyaki" or "Hitatsura", according to the Japanese artistic swords community. This hamon has a radial pattern and the metal flow lines are quite distinguished, thanks to his unique etching recipe.
Artist Statement:
"This type of hamon is frowned upon by the Japanese sword community. Rumours suggest this hamon makes the blade brittle, but it seems that some knife makers later did this deliberately to pursuit this unique hamon. We can freely create intriguing hamon; this is a chefknife after all."
