A collaborative work between the Chinese swordsmith "Sun" and Xinguo, this piece features a meticulously forged Damascus steel made from 1084 and 15N20, forming an exceptionally clean and symmetrical triangular‑weave mosaic pattern. The blade’s profile is both fluid and bold, with dense, crisp layering visible from the spine all the way to the heel. The Damascus structure is remarkably uniform—an impressive achievement in mosaic forging.
Enhanced by Xinguo’s outstanding grinding, etching, and surface‑finishing techniques, the blade’s details and visual depth are brought to their fullest expression. The design language carries the maker’s signature style throughout—combining a classic, somewhat vintage character with a refined, luxurious presence. It is a truly exceptional work.
The steel used for this knife was originally forged by "Sun" for a European sword he created for a forging competition. From the remaining material, we produced two gyutos—one of which is kept by Xinguo.
