It is forged and ground by Xinguo, whose work is known for exceptional grinding skill. Despite the multiple facets and intersecting planes, the blade is handled with ease, remaining precise, clean, and clearly defined.
The steel comes from Baker Forge & Tool in the United States. It features a Tigermascus cladding of Bronze, Copper, and 1084 steel, paired with a 100 layer damascus core of 1084 and 15N20. Through a carefully controlled acid etch by Xinguo, the colors and contrast of each material are revealed with clarity and restraint.
The blade profile is highly distinctive, combining traditional Japanese sword influence with Western tactical design. A false edge along the spine exposes the core steel, allowing controlled movement to emerge within the layered pattern. Together with the sori curve and a sharp kissaki, this Sujihiki carries the quiet authority of a katana shaped by Western influence.
