Yu Kurosaki is among Echizen’s most dynamic contemporary bladesmiths, renowned for taking classic Japanese knife craft in a bold, visually striking direction. His pieces are easily recognized by their distinctive tsuchime patterns, extremely thin grinds, and signature finishes that attract both working chefs and serious collectors.
These blades use a sanmai construction, with a high-performance SG2 core wrapped in stainless steel for easy care. This combination offers outstanding sharpness and edge life while staying practical for daily kitchen use.The nakiri is built with a slightly offset spine for extra knuckle clearance and a flat edge ideal for push cuts, making fine vegetable work—brunoise, julienne, or chiffonade—feel effortless.
In the Senko line, a cross-hammered tsuchime catches and reflects light beautifully. The blade has a saber grind, paired with a micro-convexity and a light microbevel, finished with hairline and sandblasting for a clean look. Spine and choil are also polished better handling.
