As part of the Ji Rui’s mid-tier series, this Damascus edition places greater emphasis on aesthetics while retaining full performance capability. Finished with a black-etched treatment, the layered pattern reveals striking depth and contrast, giving the blade a bold and atmospheric presence.

Named “Dusk,” the knife draws inspiration from its distinctive 203Layers Damascus expression. The flowing layers resemble a dark sea of clouds, while a subtle copper horizon emerges between core and cladding like a faint orange-red glow at twilight. It captures the quiet intensity and atmospheric beauty of the moment just before nightfall.

Forged around an Apex Ultra core, this blade delivers edge retention and toughness that exceed traditional carbon steels, ensuring dependable performance in demanding kitchen environments.

Constructed in a Go-mai configuration, a copper layer is sandwiched between the stainless Damascus cladding and the carbon steel core to help prevent carbon diffusion and preserve the integrity of the core steel. The stainless exterior enhances corrosion resistance while allowing the Damascus pattern to stand out with clarity and depth.

The maker’s interpretation of a chef knife remains bold and functional, featuring a robust 5mm+ spine that tapers progressively toward the tip. This geometry provides balanced handling, controlled precision, and the versatility required for both fine detail work and more demanding cuts.
