Description

This series showcases Mizuno Tanrenjo (Akitada)’s traditional craftsmanship, Made in Sakai using Ginsan steel. Each knife is hand-forged, heat-treated, and sharpened with meticulous attention to detail, reflecting the long-standing blade-making heritage of the region.

The grind work on this range is particularly impressive. The blades feature exceptionally smooth geometry, allowing for clean, low-resistance cuts. A refined satin finish pairs beautifully with a soft kasumi contrast along the bevel, giving the knives an understated yet elegant appearance.

Ginsan (Silver #3) is a stainless steel formulated to behave much like carbon steel. By adding chromium for corrosion resistance, it offers significantly easier maintenance while preserving the crisp edge feel and fine sharpening response that carbon steel users appreciate. The result is a blade that delivers excellent sharpness, smooth slicing performance, and everyday practicality without the constant worry of rust.
