Nigara SG2 Western Handle Series

The blade features a distinctive kurouchi tsuchime finish, combining a hammered texture with a sandblasted surface for a rugged yet refined look. Paired with sharp, distinct saber grind, it delivers an excellent balance of sharpness, cutting performance, and edge durability.

At its core is SG2 powdered stainless steel, prized for its exceptional edge retention and strong corrosion resistance. It is also a preferred steel of Nigara Hamono’s head sharpener, Maruyama-san, reflecting its excellent performance when properly heat-treated and finished.

Completing the knife is a handcrafted desert ironwood handle, made in Hatsukokoro’s Hyogo workshop. Its full-tang construction provides reassuring strength and balance, while the ergonomic shaping ensures a secure, comfortable grip in hand.
