Description
The Sakai Takayuki "Kunoichi" is a beautifully crafted traditional Japanese knife, hand-forged in Sakai using  Sanmai construction, with a Ginsan steel core and a refined Kasumi finish. Ginsan offers excellent sharpness, edge retention and corrosion resistance, while remaining relatively easy to maintain.

The true highlight of the Kunoichi series is the delicate hand-engraved Sakura detail created by Ms. Michiko Kubota on the blade, adding a refined and highly artistic touch to this traditional knife. The handle is made from durable oak, finished with Japanese lacquer by Ms. Eri Hayashida, and decorated with a matching Sakura motif.

The name "Kunoichi", written as くノ一 in Japanese, refers to a female ninja. It gives the knife a meaningful identity, especially because the engraving and lacquer work are created by two female craftsmen, Ms. Kubota and Ms. Hayashida, each contributing her own specialist skill to the finished knife.
