Description

Yu Kurosaki is among Echizen’s most dynamic contemporary bladesmiths, renowned for taking classic Japanese knife craft in a bold, visually striking direction. His pieces are easily recognized by their distinctive tsuchime patterns, extremely thin grinds, and signature finishes that attract both working chefs and serious collectors.

These blades use a sanmai construction, with a high-performance SG2 core wrapped in stainless steel for easy care. This combination offers outstanding sharpness and edge life while staying practical for daily kitchen use. Bunka is like a stubbier kiritsuke—just as cool, trading blade length for nimbleness. Ideal for push cutting and precise tip work in tight spaces. This particular series is built with a slightly offset spine for extra knuckle clearance.

In the Senko line, a cross-hammered tsuchime catches and reflects light beautifully. The blade has a saber grind, paired with a micro-convexity and a light microbevel, finished with hairline and sandblasting for a clean look. Spine and choil are also polished better handling.
